National Technology roadmap in Korea aims to make long term strategy plan. Consensual National Technology roadmap (NTRM) in Korea has set up five complementary visions, two

of which are related to sustainability and security directly, including‘‘Advancing the E2 (Environment and Energy) Frontier''and the‘‘Improving National Safety and Prestige''.

National Technology foresight in China and Technology foresight towards 2020 in China as well as National Technology roadmap in Korea were all strongly informative processes that were initiated to capture experts'views on future S&t challenges Hence,

Moore's law is an extreme case of a strategic game, reinforced by technology roadmaps, between manufacturers who cannot afford to lose the race.

as we saw in the case of technology roadmaps. They thus tend to reproduce the circulating assumptions.

which regularly develops technology roadmaps concerning the group main business sectors. These different pieces of insight are matched finally through an interactive process that brings the social researchers from Philips Design and the technologists from Philips Research together with the business managers from all the product divisions of the company.

Scope is a more traditional insight into roadmapping methodology that separates, for example, technology roadmaps and market roadmaps.

This is quite a traditional technology roadmap that aims to build a future perspective for a single technology. The aim of the roadmap is to identify specific action steps towards the future.

and systemic capacities The SSB roadmap can be perceived as an R&d II type of technology roadmap that aims to contribute to the strategy space and the social/actor space.

A science or technology roadmap is like a highway roadmap that describes how one might proceed from a starting point to a final destination expressed as a vision.

a science or technology roadmap also shows the intersections between scientific steps or technologies 56. A roadmap can take various forms,

Science.PublicPolicyVol37\5. Future technology analysis for biosecurity and emerging infectious diseases in Asia-Pacific.pdf

Four scenarios and six technology roadmaps for the region were developed. The results show that many future technologies will converge to become most effective in dealing with biosecurity and EID.

and will have important methodological implications that eventually bring about a clearer identification of‘technology roadmaps'.'The technology roadmapping method has been used in the present authors'previous region-wide studies (APEC CTF, 2006.

Technology roadmapping The structure of the roadmaps used in this study was designed by adapting from the generic format of a product/technology roadmap (Phaal et al.

the level of systemic transformation (transformation roadmap) and the level of enablers (technology roadmaps. However, it depends on the case

In Section 4, for example, we present an example of a more focused sectoral roadmap (the construction industry in the Victoria Technology roadmap, Australia) in

and a roadmap of environmenntall sustainable ICT, in which the enablers are mapped separately as three technology roadmaps.

Fig. 2 presents the subset of a systemic transformation roadmap, the technology roadmap. The critical boundary of the technology roadmap is formed by the long-term vision defined in the systemic transformation roadmap.

The technology roadmap has four potential levels. What levels are utilized depends on the topic: in some cases it is enough to map just the enabling technologies,

yet in some cases the market development and actors play more imporrtan roles. In the first level, technology-based solutions, specific developments of technological solutions are depicted on a level that is assessed as necessary.
