#Salt for Life incredibly realistic salt replacement Salt for Life will begin rolling out online and in grocery stores in August and September of this year.

Salt for Life comes from Nu-Tek Salt, a Bill gates-endorsed company that sells salt replacement products that contain 70%less sodium than traditional salt.

Unlike salt replacers of the past, Nu-Tek s products actually taste like the real thing.

Big food producers have started already using it, but soon you ll be able to buy it yourself.

#That consumer-friendly product is Salt for Life, which will begin rolling out online and in grocery stores in August and September of this year.

Nu-Tek takes potassium chloride and salt, turns it into a wet slurry (diluting it), blends it in an organic acid like lemon juice, and recrystallizes it.#

#At first, Salt for Life will probably appeal to people who are actively trying to keep their salt intake down (in fact,

Salt for Life tastes more realistic than most sugar replacers. Consumers in the U s. are increasing their sodium consumption by 63 mg per day every two years, according to Medical Daily.

#Toddler Meals Have Too much Salt: CDC Most ready-to-eat meals for toddlers have too much salt government researchers say.

In addition studies suggest people develop a taste for salt earlier in life. Children are born not with a taste for salt said study researcher Joyce Maalouf of the CDC.

The less sodium children consume the less they will want it Maalouf said. The researchers examined nutrition labels on ready-to-eat meals for babies (less than 1 year old)

Meals that contained more than 210 milligrams of salt per serving about one-seventh of the daily recommendation were considered to be high in salt The researchers chose this cutoff

The other food groups fruits and vegetables have minimal salt. The good news is that baby foods were relatively low in sodium.

See Americans Still Eat Too much Salt. To lower salt intake the CDC recommends children eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables.

and salt pre-wetting agent made from processed sugar beet molasses. When combined with the traditional deicing agent of salt the thick red beet juice freezes at a lower temperature than just a pure salt brine so it can be used in below-zero temperatures.

It also provides additional adhesive powers for the brine which allows the roadway to retain more even after rainfall.

The brine is simply a salt bath used in the final manufacturing process. The cheese brine was a waste product that the dairy had to pay $25000 annually to have treated off site said Steve Warndahl a highway commissioner in Polk County Wis.

which is much lower than solid rock salt which is ineffective at minus 15 degrees Fahrenheit.

The potato juice is mixed with a traditional salt brine at varying ratios depending on the temperatures and weather conditions.

The potato juice is more environmentally friendly than rock salt. Hatcher said Agricultural brines are friendly to the environment
